The Health Benefits of Bone Broth
Reduces joint ache
In order to keep the tendons, tissues, and ligaments healthy, the joints need sufficient amount of collagen, which is a part of the bio molecules family. Bone broth was found to be able to alleviate joint ache because it contains GAGs that are pivotal for optimal joint health. Since animals’ bones naturally contain collagen, we can easily extract it by heating them in a broth. Consuming this bone broth on the daily will help us elevate the amount of collagen to alleviate pain in the joints.
- Cleanses the liver
The liver is the major organ for the removal of toxins and other waste. Hence, this is why it requires regular external detox from time to time so that we avert the deposition of toxins in the liver from the foods and drinks we consume on the daily and from the exposure to environmental toxins. Opt for a cup of bone broth on the daily for a complete liver cleanse.
- Soothes the gut
Since the gelatin present in bone broth can alleviate gut distress, bone broth consumption is highly beneficial for people who have digestive problems.
- Strengthens the nails, skin, and hair
Instead of spending a small fortune on products meant for the skin, nail, and hair, consume your own homemade bone broth instead! It contains all that these body parts need in order to be healthy!
- Enhances the digestion
One cup of bone broth per day is highly effective in treating constipation, diarrhea, food allergies, leaky gut syndrome, etc.
- Lowers meat dependency
Did you know that bone broth supplies you with all the needed nutrients that you may get from other meat products? This being said, it is great for people who want to lower their meat dependency.
Basic Bone Broth Recipe
You will need:
4 pounds of beef marrow and knuckle bones
2 pounds of meaty bones like short ribs
½ cup of raw ACV
4 quarts of water
3 celery stalks cut in halves
3 onions, quartered
3 carrots, halved
A handful of parsley
Sea salt to taste
Put the bones in a pot and add the ACV and water and leave it for an hour in order for the vinegar to pull the mineral from the bones. Then, add the veggies and bring the pot to boil. While it boils, skim the scum from the top and throw it out. Lower to low-heat and cover the content. Cook it for 24 to 72 hours. In the last 10 minutes, add the parsley. Turn off the heat and leave it to cool down and then strain it. Sprinkle sea salt and your broth is ready for consumption.
You can store it in the fridge for up to a week or in the freezer up to 6 months.
