Couple Celebrates Their 60th Wedding Anniversary Wearing Their Original Outfits

This couple from Nebraska toasted to their 60 years of marriage with a stunning photo shoot in their original attire they wore when they said their ‘I do’s’.

Marvin and Lucille Stone were married in Sterling in the 60s and they have been together ever since.

To celebrate their diamond anniversary, they hired Katie Autry, a photographer, to take outdoor portraits of them in their wedding attire-including the gown which Lucille made herself.

They Don’t Always Agree, but the Goal Is Mutual

The photos went viral on Facebook and got hundreds of comments and likes. Lucille said that she and her husband have been blown away by people’s responses.

She recalls how her father was the only one who cried on their big day that happened six decades ago.

Her mother beamed and both of her parents thought Marvin was ideal for her. She believes that it does help when your parents like the person that you’re going to marry.

Marvin and Lucille are children of the Great Depression and they have always shared the similar values. They explain that both of them had farm backgrounds and their goals were similar and they were both in teaching.

They agreed on their concepts about what to do and where to go next.

Still, they don’t always agree; however, the main focus is there and they kind of move along, explained Marvin.

It worked out pretty well for them and never considered separating.

From the day they married, they considered marriage a forever thing. But, by no means has everything been perfect in their marriage.

They had numerous arguments and disagreements, but the bigger goal is the same.

After three children together and 60 years later, they advise romantics about the importance of good communication and open mindedness as the key to long-term happiness.
