Lovely Brothers Deliver Blankets to Homeless Decorated with Beautiful Notes

Back in 2016, two brothers from New York left their jobs after they realized how unfulfilled they felt. And, they decided to pursue something else and dedicate some part of their time to helping people.

This was a bold, yet scary move. One day, they also came up with an unusual idea, after realizing how often they passed people in need on the streets.

Their idea was to deliver warm blankets to the homeless people on the streets of their city. New York winters can be quite harsh, so having a warm cover when you live on the streets can mean the world.

Brothers with a Unique Mission

The brothers, Mike and Nick Fiorito, later launched a non-profit that they named Blankets of Hope. They provide blankets to people in need of some warmth and love. And, this is no simple blanket; each of these blankets carries a special surprise.

They always attach an empowering handwritten note by students from all over the country.

When they began their project, little did the two brothers know that they would now be partners with more than 150 schools in 32 states and from other countries like Mexico and Canada too.

The brothers send these blankets to the schools free of charge. And, when the schools get them, their students are encouraged to write a loving and motivational message for each blanket.

Once the blankets are ready, they’re shipped to the homeless shelters in the local communities.

The brothers aren’t just providing for others, but also doing another amazing thing: they’re teaching young people the importance of showing kindness, love, and compassion for others.

Until now, an impressive number of 20,000 blankets have been delivered to people in need.

Their hope is to hand out the same number of blankets again. The brothers don’t just hope that their blankets will help keep people warm, but also provide a friendly bond that they may not always have.
