This single mom expressed her gratitude online for the immense love and support she got from strangers.
Two weeks ago, she shared on Reddit about making her son a stuffed manta ray for his b-day as she didn’t have any money to just buy him one.
She said her son wanted this toy for his 5th birthday, but she didn’t have the money to buy it for him. So, she made him one on her own using his old baby blanket.

This post she shared on the Poverty Finance forum on Reddit got more than 66,000 likes and thousands of supportive comments. People found it cute and some said the boy will surely keep it forever.
Others praised the mom’s skills and said how it’s more special than the store-bought ones.
Little did the woman know that she would soon begin to receive requests from strangers, asking her if they could send her plushies.
After several days, she shared a follow-up photo. She captioned it “I posted here a few days ago about making my son a manta ray as I couldn’t afford to buy one. Look what y’all did for my baby. You’re all amazing!”
She thanked them for the immense support and love they’ve expressed. At first, the mom was skeptical about sharing her handmade plushie, thinking she would be teased.
But she wasn’t. On the contrary, she got so much support that helped her feel loved.
Although it’s just Reddit, said the mom, she added that this community lifted her spirits and made her feel so grateful.
