Awesome & Comfy: Istanbul Airport Has Sleeping Pods Which Travelers Can Rent for a Nap

This Istanbul Airport set up 25 pods for sleeping so that passengers can rest before, after, or between flights. 

Named the iGA Sleepod, this service can be rented out hourly for the price of 6 euros between 7 am and 7 pm and for 9 euros between 7 pm and 7 am. 

The napping station comes with disposable sheets and a pillow. Extra pillows and covers are available, but are charged additionally. 

Innovative Sleeping Cabins in Istanbul Airport 

These cabisn also feature an USB port and a socket to charge electronic devices, as well as a storing section to put luggage and other personal items like bags.  This compartment is located under the mattress. 

When a passenger is done with the nap, they put the disposable pillow and blanket in a sanitizing bin and then the staff sanitizes the mattress and places new disposable sheet and pillow for the next passenger.

A passenger can rent the cabin at the sales counter located in front of the Sleepod area.

Smart Way to Rest at this Istanbul Airport 

There are 25 pods for sleeping at the section and IGA is the operator of this airport that opened up its doors in 2019. The annual capacity is 90 million and they plan to increase it to 200 million. However, currently, only one terminal is open.

This airport is one of the largest in the world with four international piers and one domestic spreading on more than 1.4 million square meters. The short-stay hotel Yotel has two properties on this airport, one airside and the other landside.

These pods seem like an awesome idea and other airports should definitely consider implementing them as well! Resting before or after flights is a necessity for many!
