One woman shared a heartwarming moment of surprising her Bambi-loving mother on her deathbed with a real-life dear and fulfilling her life-long wish. The adorable fawn surprised her mom while she was in palliative care.
The photos along with the description were shared in the popular Facebook group, The Kindness Pandemic by Lisa McDonald from Melbourne. She said how she and her sister have been caring for their ill mom who’s a huge deer lover.
They came up with the idea to surprise her with a real-life deer. They started looking for ways to make their mom’s dream come true.
Sisters Surprise their Dying Mom with a Real-Life Bambi
Lisa searched and found one couple, Simone and Chris, who owns a mobile petting farm. The lovely couple traveled for two and a half hours with the fawn, who was coincidentally also named Bambi so that they can pay a visit to the Bambi-loving mom.
Lisa contacted the couple on Facebook after she located their business and immediately arranged for Bambi to be brought to her mom’s the next day. The couple didn’t hesitate because their mom’s health deteriorated fast.
Social media users were deeply moved by the video Lisa shared of the fawn and her mom meeting for the first time. Lisa explains how her mom has Bambi statues all over her home. She is also wearing a T-shirt with a Bambi and has also requested being cremated in one.
Interestingly, Lisa and her sister, as well as the rest of the family, are very supportive of their mom and are also wearing T-shirts with Bambi. They say it’s their nursing uniform.
Thankful & Grateful for the Kindness of the Couple
Lisa says how she’s amazed by the pure love and kindness of the couple. She can’t thank them enough for what they’ve done for their mother and for the whole family.
In the heartwarming video, Chris explained that Bambi’s mom couldn’t look after the fawn so the couple took her in and raised her themselves.
The post that Lisa shared got more than 17,000 likes and people were commenting with best wishes for their mom and the whole family.
One person wrote that this brought her to tears and says how it’s a touching and special moment.
Another one said how she started to cry because it’s such a lovely thing that they’ve arranged this for their mother. They said how she raised two beautiful daughters who’re beyond dedicated, which is wonderful.
