An 8-month-old pit bull from California is being praised for her heroism after she saved her family from a raging fire in their apartment complex.
The dog named Sasha also rescued the seven-month-old baby by carrying it by her diaper. The flames broke out just before midnight when Sasha alerted the sleeping family to the danger.
She barked and banged the door of the family’s rental in Stockton.
Her owner, Nana, explains that when she opened the door, Sasha ran inside and started barking at her. Nana found this odd and realized this isn’t like Sasha.
Dog Saves a Family from a Raging Fire & Rescues the Baby
After seeing that there are flames at the apartment complex, Nana rushed back inside to get her seven-month baby who was inside. But, when she got inside, she saw that Sasha was already trying to get the poor baby out.
Nana isn’t surprised by the fact that Sasha ran to get her youngest-they have a special relationship and even take baths together.
Nana explains that Sasha had the baby by the diaper and was pulling her off the bed. Nana was shocked and couldn’t believe what was happening. But, thanks to Sasha and her quick thinking, the whole family got out without being harmed.
Unfortunately, the fire left their apartment unlivable. Nana, her baby, and Sasha, as well as Nana’s cousin who was also affected by the fire, stayed with their aunt nearby.
Her cousin wasn’t at home during the time of the fire and no one was injured. The fire department investigated the cause of the raging fire.
Nana Says that They Own Everything to Their Brave Sasha
Nana said of brave Sasha that their family owns her everything. She claims that if it weren’t for her, she would’ve probably stayed in bed and things could’ve ended much worse.
Although she doesn’t keep Sasha outside most of the time, Nana says she’s glad she was outside that night.
Nana’s sister Christine opened up a GoFundMe page to help the family.
Nana has been looking for a new place to stay. She has three kids. She’s a single mother of a 9-year-old boy, an 8-year-old daughter, and a 7-month-old girl.
