For centuries, the Amish have been using their black healing salve to remove toxins and other foreign objects from the skin, for example, splinters. This ointment is a combination of essential oils, wax, and tar or activated charcoal. It is also highly recommendable for the treatment of cystic acne, skin tags, bites from insects, as well as for the treatment of ingrown nails.
How to Make Your Own Black Healing Salve
You will need:
½ cup of quality coconut oil (it moisturizes the skin, speeds up the healing of wounds, and has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antiseptic characteristics)
3 tsp of activated charcoal (it promotes the removal of toxins from the body)
3 tsp of bentonite clay
½ cup of castor oil (it will moisturize the skin and it also has powerful anti-inflammatory effect)
10 drops of calendula oil
2 tsp of beeswax
Preparation: In a bigger bowl, put the oils, the activated charcoal, and the bentonite clay and mix them well. Then, melt the beeswax and add it to the previous mixture. Mix once more and then transfer it into an airtight glass jar. Close it and keep it in a cool and dark area.
